Cervelli And Hughes Injury ReportsPosted: April 20, 2011
Via Bryan Hoch, Francisco Cervelli will begin his minor league rehab assignments this week. On Thursday, he will make his 2011 debut with High-A Tampa and will work his way back from there. I would expect to see Frankie back in pinstripes in around two weeks which is good because then Joe Girardi won’t have to hide Gustavo Molina anymore.
Via ESPN New York, Larry Rothschild has reported good news back to Yankee camp. Phil Hughes has started his new throwing program and apparently “had some life” on the ball while long tossing. Whether this is true or Rothschild is just saying we all want to hear, I’m not sure, but I guess it’s a good sign. Hopefully, he gets completely righted as soon as possible and we see him back in the Bronx soon with the 93-94 mph fastball.
