Minor League Updates

Here’s the numbers from some of the key players from each of the minor league affiliates:

Triple A Scranton: 10-6

Jesus Montero, C- .414/.407/.534, 1 HR, 4 RBI – Power and walks aren’t really there, but he’s still raking

Jorge Vazquez, 1B- .348/.362/.682, 7 HR, 21 RBI – Sure the power is ridiculous, but scouts still say he’ll never do anything in the MLB

Adam Warren, SP- 1-0, 2.89 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 18.2 IP, 8 BB, 9 K – Best chance of any prospect to be called up to start after Noesi

David Phelps, SP- 1-2, 5.51 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 16.1 IP, 5 BB, 12 K – I expected more

DJ Mitchell, SP- 0-2, 4.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 15.1 IP, 10 BB, 12 K

Andrew Brackman, SP- 1-0, 6.30 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, 10.0 IP, 4 BB, 6 K – Not off to the best start

George Kontos, RP- 1-0, 3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 11.0 IP, 3 BB, 10 K – Will probably make an appearance in the Bronx at some this year

Brackman gets the start today

Double A Trenton: 7-9

Austin Romine, C- .294/.390/.529, 3 HR, 14 RBI – On fire lately

Melky Mesa, CF- .150/.227/.317, 1 HR, 3 RBI – Definitely expected more out of him

Manny Banuelos, SP- 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 8.0 IP, 3 BB, 5 K

Dellin Betances, SP- 0-1, 1.93 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 4.2 IP, 2 BB, 1 K – Spent some time on the DL and has only made one start

Man-Ban gets the start today

High-A Tampa: 7-10

Francisco Cervelli, C- .300/.300/.300, 3 TB, 1 RBI – In three rehab games

Zoilo Almonte, CF- .222/.250/.413, 2 HR, 11 RBI, 3 BB, 16 K – Not liking the K/BB ratio

Brett Marshall, SP- 1-3, 10.91 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, 15.2 IP, 5 BB, 9 K

Jose Ramirez, SP- 0-2, 6.43 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 14.0 IP, 6 BB, 18 K – I like the strikeout rate

Low-A Charleston: 9-8

Slade Heathcott, CF- .339/.408/.581, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 6 BB, 19 K – ¬†Strikeouts are an issue, but he’s still raking and the walks are doing better

JR Murphy, C- .339/.355/.525, 3 HR, 14 RBI, 2 BB, 6 K – Scouts love this kid which is why they are trying him at other positions

Ramon Flores, LF- .327/.485/.481, 14 BB, 12 K – Really good at getting base, gotta love those walks

Gary Sanchez, C- .231/.279/.359, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 3 BB, 15 K – Just got off of the DL, let him get his feet back under him
