Yanks Sign Brad Halsey

Today, the Yankees made an interesting move by signing a former player of their own in Brad Halsey.  He made seven starts for the Bombers in 2004 before being shipped to Arizona in the Randy Johnson trade.  He most famously started the Jeter-diving-into-the stands game.  He spent a season with the D-Backs and then one in oakland before tearing his labrum and being released.

Since then, he has been pitching in independent leagues and was finally signed today.  It is a minor league deal and he is now in extended Spring Training.  i don’t expect him to be in pinstripes this season, but if Boone Logan starts to struggle again, he could be a LOOGY.
