Recent TransactionsPosted: May 7, 2011
Here are some transactions from the last few days that the Yankees have made:
- Ramiro Pena has been brought up to replace the injured Eric Chavez on the 25-man roster. Chavez is not expected back for at least six weeks.
- After hearing that the Yanks tried to trade him during Spring Training, Kevin Russo, a super utility guy down in Triple A Scranton, was designated for assignment. I was a little upset about this because he can play three infield positions and left field, which is pretty valuable, but he wasn’t hitting.
- The Bombers also signed right-hander Jess Todd, former Cardinals pitcher. He is only 25 and strikes out a lot of batters.
- They also re-signed left-hander Jose Ortegano who they signed in the off-season. Ortegano got hurt and before he got to the chance to pitch was DFA’d. Well, he’s back he’ll finally get an opportunity.
