Soriano To The DL; Dickerson Called Up

As I wrote last night, Rafael Soriano was likely to be put on the disabled list after an MRI today revealed a lot of inflammation.  In a corresponding move, they have called up outfielder Chris Dickerson, the player they got in return for Sergio Mitre in March.  This makes sense because Dickerson is a lefty bat which is a good replacement for Eric Chavez.  He was hitting .248/.370/.354 for Triple A Scranton before the call up.

They have the normal four-player bench and seven-pitcher pen, but I still think something needs to be done.  As I mentioned in the post I just wrote, Amaury Sanit is holding down the long relief role which leave Hector Noesi with almost no role.  Send him down and bring up someone who can give you innings later in the game so you don’t wear down Joba Chamberlain, David Robertson, or Boone Logan.
