Game 53: It Continues

To start this nine game road trip, the Yankees have had to face some pretty tough starting pitchers.  Michael Pineda, Felix Hernandez, and Jason Vargas have all been doing very well and are a big reason why the Mariners are very much in the thick of things in AL West and Trevor Cahill is proving this season that 2010 was no fluke.  Tonight it continues as the Yankees will have to take on another very young, very good Oakland A’s starter in Brett Anderson.  So far in 2011, he is 3-4 with a 2.84 ERA and has struck out almost three times more hitters than he walks.  This being said, hopefully, they can scratch a few runs out.  Here’s the starting lineup:

  1. Derek Jeter, SS
  2. Curtis Granderson, CF
  3. Mark Teixeira, 1B
  4. Alex Rodriguez, 3B
  5. Robinson Cano, 2B
  6. Russell Martin, C
  7. Nick Swisher, RF
  8. Andruw Jones, DH
  9. Brett Gardner, LF

And it will be Freddy Garcia toeing the rubber.  Boy, I cannot wait until the Bombers get back to the east coast because these late games are killing me.  It will be back to a 10:05 start and the game can be seen on YES or MLB Network.  Let’s Go Yanks!!
