Silva Has No Opt-Out DatePosted: June 3, 2011
Via Lohud, Brian Cashman has said in a recent interview that Carlos Silva does not have an opt-out clause in his current minor league contract. It was a rumor that he had an opt-out for mid-June, but Cashman confirmed that he cannot leave the contract. This is pretty good news actually because it means they will have veteran starting pitching depth down in Scranton for the entire year. And even though there is no rush to bring him up now, Ivan Nova should still be pretty nervous because he options left and he isn’t pitching well, even though I don’t necessarily agree with it.
