Injury Reports GalorePosted: June 8, 2011
Via Buster Olney, the Yankees have a couple of injuries to deal with. First of all, Joba Chamberlain is heading to the disabled list with a flexor strain. This really stinks because it means David Robertson is the only one of the three original set-up men from the start of the season. Even worse, in a corresponding move, the Yankees re-called. They now have three long men. That’s….awesome?
Also, Russell Martin will not be in the lineup because his back “locked up.” It didn’t seem to serious and hopefully after a day of rest, he’ll be okay. This was not a great time to catch the injury bug by both of these guys, but all we can hope for is for the fill-ins to do well and for both of them to be back as soon as possible.
