Yanks Bats Cool, Lose To Tribe 1-0Posted: June 14, 2011
So the Yankees were not able to complete the sweep and lost 1-0 to the Indians. Here’s a shortened recap:
- AJ Burnett went 7.2 innings allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out eight. He looked very good and had a very good curveball. He didn’t work particularly economically throwing 112 pitches, but threw 72 strikes, which is good for him.
- Joe Girardi then brought in David Robertson for the last 1.1 innings in a perfect fashion and struck out one in the process. He only threw 16 pitches which is good for him and he could still be available for tonight’s game.
- The offense was awful. They went 0-for-7 with RISP and left eight men on base. They had the bases loaded and nobody out in the first and didn’t score. That basically set the tone for the rest of the night. Derek Jeter did get a hit though to give him 2994.
The Bombers will now start a three game series against the Rangers before hitting the road.
