Game 86: The Rays Finally Come

(Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images)

This may hard to believe, but this is the first time that the Rays are visiting the Bronx this season.  The Yankees went down to Tampa once for a two game set earlier in the season, but that is the only time that these two teams have met in 2011.  That means we’re going to be seeing a lot of them in second half, which should make the AL East race a little more interesting.  Also, a pre-game note, Mariano Rivera is available for tonight’s game after not being able to pitch in Cleveland.  Here’s the lineup:

  1. Derek Jeter, SS
  2. Curtis Granderson, CF
  3. Mark Teixeira, 1B
  4. Alex Rodriguez, 3B
  5. Robinson Cano, 2B
  6. Nick Swisher, RF
  7. Jorge Posada, DH
  8. Russell Martin, C
  9. Brett Gardner, LF

And it will be Bartolo Colon on the bump.  The game will start a little after 7 pm and can be seen on YES and MLB Network.  Let’s Go Yanks!!
